Human connection is one of the most powerful forces in the world. It is the essence of what makes us human. It is the way we share our emotions, our thoughts, and our experiences with each other. Our interactions with others define our lives and can significantly impact our mental and physical health, both positively and negatively.
Stress is one of the most common problems that we face and connection has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to reduce stress. When we connect with others, we feel a sense of belonging and support. This feeling helps us to cope with the pressures of everyday life and gives us the strength to face challenges.
When we connect with another person 1-2-1 or in a group, when we feel relaxed with them and able to be our true selves we feel a sense of belonging and meaning, and this can have a positive impact on our mental and physical health. Studies have shown that people who have a strong social support system have lower rates of depression and anxiety as well as having a lower risk of developing chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
It is essential to make time for social connections in our lives, whether it be through family, friends, or community. By nurturing our relationships with others, we can improve our mental and physical well-being and create a happier and healthier life.
Last week The Glass Female did exactly that, we rolled out the floral carpet and invited new and familiar faces to share space, wine, nibbles and connection and it was truly fabulous.
