3 Top Tips for Coping with Overwhelm in the Workplace

When the beautiful @bypieta asked me to do a collaboration with her we started talking about what empowerment and confidence means to women.

My top tips for confidence and empowering YOU are from my own experiences in a place of anxiety, frustration and often sheer overwhelm in the workplace and not to mention often being a multi-tasking woman in life … so I use the following techniques:


  1. Repeating out loud - I AM WORTHY. It is so powerful if we say these words to ourselves, often we talk to ourselves in a very negative fashion - that inner voice creeps in spreading doubt, so projecting this statement to ourselves and the world is reframing it and owning it 💪🏻

  2. Box Breath - one of my faves, a powerful tool to heighten performance and concentration whilst relieving anxiety - great for high pressure work environments or when overwhelm gets the better of you, I find 4 or 5 counts is optimum, inhale for 5, hold for 5, slowly exhale for 5 👌

  3. Cheerleaders - those who lift you up, remind you of who you are and what you’re amazing at and are there for a hug, a wine/tea and a pep talk, surround yourself with them ♥️ they will help build your confidence back up!
